Bill Huston has been in the saddle industry since 1962. He started off by repairing saddles and reworking them to fit the horse better. Flooded by prospective customers that were complaining that their saddles were injuring their horses, Bill started looking for solutions. The answers to the problems flew in the face of conventional thinking. Bill realized that you can't make a rigid structure like a saddle tree fit a flexible object such as your horse. He then set out to make a treeless saddle that stayed true to his western roots and has been pioneering the technology ever since. The result is that Bill's soft saddles are now incredibly comfortable to ride, and even more so for your horse.
Soft Saddles, As they are now called, have been accused of a lot of things. Most of them are not flattering and even fewer are true. For example I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard "Yea but you can't rope off a soft saddle." The key is that a soft saddle uses the horse as the foundation verses strapping a foundation to a horse. Granted not all soft saddles can be used for roping but Bill designed his saddles to be used by real cattlemen.
Bill's craftsmanship enables him to make soft saddles for all types of equestrian disciplines. Sport saddles, English saddles, Speed saddles, and Trail saddles are just some examples of the types of soft saddles that Bill has made.
